GETTING INTO THE MIND OF YOUR CUSTOMERS
As we mentioned earlier about search intent, it’s all about understanding the reason why your customer searched that specific search term. Trying to grasp the intent of the user vs simply typing in a search query are two very different things. And that is why it’s important to produce content for people, and not robots.
When it comes to search intent, there are several types of categories we keep in mind:
Informational Keywords: Occurs when someone is searching for just solely information.
Navigational Keywords: This is done when someone is looking for a specific company or website. This type of search is where the user has already made up their mind.
Commercial Keywords: These types of searches occur when users are shopping around for other businesses and means they are close to purchasing.
Transactional Keywords: This is the golden ticket for all keywords. When users search for transactional keywords, it means they are ready to make a purchase. Having a strong transactional keyword strategy on your website will help you drive higher conversion rates and more sales.
An example search intent would be if someone is searching for a “Philadelphia SEO Company.” With this specific search term, they are ultimately shopping around for SEO companies because they are in need of SEO services. If someone is searching for an “SEO agency near me,” it’s because they are ready to purchase SEO services.
At Hyland Graphic Design & Advertising, we make sure we are producing an effective keyword strategy that is driving more sales and conversions for our clients. While we recognize that fresh content creation is a great way to bring in more website traffic, if you don’t have an effective keyword strategy, you may not be getting the right traffic that is converting.
